The NSA Foundation Board of Trustees would like to recognize donors who have given unselfishly over the past year. Due to space constraints, only contributions of $500 or more are listed. This list is current as of February 1, 2008.

Professional Speakers Benefit Fund (PSBF)

The Professional Speakers Benefit Fund (PSBF) helps NSA members and their families who need financial assistance due to poor health problems or other emergencies, experience catastrophic losses because of natural disasters or who outlive their assets.

PSBF Contributions

The Cigar PEG has generously contributed $25,000 in the past year to support the PSBF. This brings their cumulative PSBF donation to $108,500.

In January 2008, the NSA Foundation received an anonymous PSBF contribution of $25,000.

Michael Soon Lee, MBA, CSP generously contributed $10,333 in the past year to support the PSBF. This brings his cumulative PSBF donation since December 2006 to $19,167.

Scholarship Fund

The Scholarship Fund was established to promote public speaking by recognizing and rewarding academically gifted or financially eligible junior, senior and graduate students majoring or minoring in speech communication or a directly related field.

The four scholarships include: The Earl Nightingale Scholarship, The Nido Qubein Scholarship, The Bill Gove Scholarship and The Cavett Robert Scholarship.

The Scholarship Fund also rewards outstanding college and university communication and persuasion instructors. The two professor awards are: The Robert Henry Outstanding Professor Award and The Jeanne Robertson Outstanding Professor Award.

The Art Berg Fund

The Art Berg Fund was created to help charitable, non-profit organizations in which NSA members are involved implement technology or communications-related projects.

Research Fund

The NSA Foundation’s research arm provides oversight and funding for collecting data related to the speaking profession as well as the reporting and dissemination of that research.
