2008 Fall Conference & 2009 Winter Conference:
Proposal to Present
Are You A Presenter Who Focuses on
Helping Your Audience Get Results?
If so, we want you to be a part of something new and different at NSA. Focused on helping NSA members get results in their careers, we present:
Fall Conference
– November 20 - 23, 2008
and
Winter Conference
– February 12 - 15, 2009
We're changing things up!
We're increasing your opportunities for real learning; member’s chances for real changes–specific action and accountability plans; and maximizing the real networking connections–both on-site and planned links between conferences.
Here is the goal for the Fall & Winter Conferences:
The purpose of the conferences is to help each attendee take his/her speaking business from where it is to where they want it to be–including helping some figure out where they are and where they want to be. The emphasis is on helping participants create a sustainable action plan that can be implemented in the 90 days following the conference so that each participant sees a measurable return from the time and money they invest in their participation.
Here is what we are looking for from presenters:
We are looking for presenters who are audience-focused with content-rich programming that can help participants to transform their businesses. If you can take theory and transform it into a process that creates a ROI (return on investment), then we are interested in you!
You need not apply if you:
1. Want to focus on philosophy or lecture
2. Are not able to visualize the transfer of your knowledge into specific actions
Here is how we are going to deliver:
The conferences will consist of the following formats:
1. Intensive track: Attendees come with one focus and stay there the entire conference. One to two faculty will dig deep to give them 12 hours of intensive knowledge and skills to take their businesses to the next level. The intensive track will focus on marketing in November and running your business in February.
2. Mega session track: Three hour extended sessions focusing on one topic–running your business in November and marketing in February. Six to eight faculty will share their expertise and help attendees apply what's worked for them to their businesses.
3. Concurrent sessions: Attendees will pick from a variety of 75 - 90 minute sessions throughout the conference. Sessions will focus on platform skills, marketing, sales, product development, running a business, technology, ethics, etc.
Regardless of the length of time, sessions should be designed to be interactive and to allow time for participants to decide on the specific action ideas they are taking from the session. The longer the session, the greater the opportunity for involvement on the part of the audience.
When thinking of creating a presentation, think outside of the box. Emphasis on cutting edge ideas:
- Repurposing your business
- Reframing your business
- Driving your business
- Traveling for speakers
- Impact of recession
- Productivity tools
- Virtual staff
- Mastermind groups
- Intellectual property
- Social networking
- Virtual events, virtual branding
- Webinars, teleseminars
- Intergenerational audiences and clients
- Legality and practicalities of using music
- Multiple streams of income, managing your finances, etc.
